The Goose Festival returned to the Town of Kindersley after a one year absence due to COVID, and Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce Kevin Martin was happy to see people out and about once again.

"Overall, it was a big success. I was really happy to see how many people came out, was really impressed by that and I'm glad they did. Because we all needed to get out and kind of stretch our wings so to speak.  It was great to see the parade route was full from beginning to end so, I was extremely happy with that."

Martin also thanked all the help the Goose Festival received to make it a special weekend.

"The Rotary Club came out and they really did an awesome job helping out with setting up the parade and taking the barricades down and also putting them up, with Robert and Sharon Kachmarski and their crew. They were fantastic. Steven Conway too from Meridian Survey, he supplied us with a couple of quads for us to use for the parade. It happens, they supplied the porta-potties. Everybody contributed and that's what makes it a successful Goose Festival.”

All the retailers downtown were very busy, and the food trucks had long lineups as well according to Martin.

"I saw lineups at all four food trucks so, I'm sure they all did very well. I was glad to see that I you know, people responded in kind so to speak, and they came out and supported them. People love the mini-donuts, they love the beavertails. They love the Philippine food and they loved the other truck too, Mater Tasty from Flaxcombe. Every truck had something a little bit different and I think that's what made it really, really good."

There was also a Sidewalk Sale held out at the East Crossing in Kindersley, and Martin said it was also very successful.
