After the un-official start to summer this past May long weekend, the un-official boys of summer will be moving things into full swing as senior baseball action continues around the area tonight.

Starting off with the Fertile Valley Baseball League, tonight in Kindersley marks the first game of the season for the local Stallions and Cubs.

First pitch is set for 7:00 PM as the Stallions will be the home team in their first game back in the FVBL after a stint in the NSRBL. The Cubs on the other-hand have been in the league for several seasons now, and will be showcasing new jerseys at some point as they hope to kick the 2023 campaign off with a bang.

More games taking place this week include those same Cubs taking on the U18 Royals on Thursday, and you can view the full schedule including a Sunday matinee through the FVBL website.

The Unity Cardinals are on the road Tuesday to face the Mervin Flyers at 6:30. Coming off an 8-2 loss against Standard Hill in last week's season opener, they are the only local team left in the North Saskatchewan River Baseball League after the offseason shake-up.

Later this week marks the opener for the Coteau Hills Baseball League. The Beechy Breakers will be hitting the road on Thursday to take on the Elrose Aces at 6:30, and then the season really fires up in June.

Checking in with Macklin's pair of teams in the Battle River Baseball League, each the Sr. and U18 Lakers picked up victories to sit tied for first in their new league.

Expect check-ins from all of the local leagues mentioned above throughout the regular season.
