Dr. Torr, Chief Medical Officer of the Heartland Health Region provided insight on this year's flu season and influenza rumors.  He says that flu season isn't quite over yet and they are going to continue to offer flu shots through the month of April.

He warns about respiratory viruses, and says everyone should be taking extra precaution, such as washing hands, as to not spread anything.

Normally, Type A viruses will have phased out by December and Type B viruses phased out by March. With this year's atypical season with regards to fluctuating temperatures, Dr. Torr says the region saw a rising number of viruses and influenza of all types peaking in February. Many cases involved the infection of working age persons, with even a few patients in intensive care.
