Flatlanders Speedway out of Kindersley is getting geared up and ready for another race day. This Saturday and Sunday at 1:00 pm each afternoon the engines will be roaring west of town, with all the usual Street Stocks, Hobbies, and Trucks expected. Admission is $10, and parents should note that free passes are available for kids.

Track President Jason Hankewich can be contacted for more information, as he got on the phone with West Central Online yesterday afternoon to talk a bit about their upcoming plans for their new idea "Win To Get In".

All the details needed are above, as Hankewich expanded a little more on the idea during our conversation.

"It's something fun, and for all the people that probably don't think they can afford it, and just want a chance to get in a car once and see what it's like, the track is giving them a chance right now. We decided to buy our own vehicle, and we will lottery off each time a chance to win."

The first draw will take place Friday afternoon, with the next one taking place Saturday, as this weekends races will act as the kickoff for Hankewich's newest idea.

"There was a crew that did some sort of an idea like this at one time, so we kind of spit-balled off that idea, and it grew into a little more than that but also the same idea."

The Flatlanders Track President mostly hopes that the idea can spark some new interest in racing around the area. Anyone that gets in the car and does well, should consider getting their own according to Hankewich.

"If you win, good on you. If you can win with a car you don't know, and a set-up you don't know, then you are something special."

This opportunity presents a worry free chance to get behind the wheel and get on your wild side, as sparking the next generation is something that will help keep racing alive in the community.

"It will be pretty simple and straight forward for them to just show up, right?"

This idea could pump some new life into Flatlander as we approach the final two weekends of the season. Following this weekends racing, the Flatlanders Invitational is set for over a month from now on September 24th and 25th.
