The murder trial surrounding the disappearance of Sheree Fertuck in 2015 is set to officially begin today in Saskatoon.

Greg Fertuck is facing charges for the killing of his estranged wife and a charge of indignity to human remains. Sheree went missing in December 2015 from the Kenaston area. A semi truck she was driving was at a nearby gravel pit near her home. Many of her belongings still inside the vehicle.

The case is unique as Sheree's remains have never been located. The Crown believes that they have managed to acquire enough evidence to deem the incident a homicide.

The trial had been delayed due to the pandemic. Proceedings are expected to take 5 weeks.
