Saskatchewan opposition leader Dwain Lingenfelter is calling on the provincial government to step in and make sure flood victims from Maple Creek and across the province are looked after.

Lingenfelter was in Maple Creek yesterday meeting with community leaders and discussing flood relief efforts.  He says that now is the time for the provincial government to lend a helping hand and cut through the red tape.

Some producers have lost half of their calf crop due to the weather. One of the big concerns now are hoof root and anthrax.

Dwain Lingenfelter says the government should come forward with a one hundred dollar per acre payment for flooded farmland and fifty dollars per head for cattle across the province.
