After the Saskatchewan Teachers' Federation made the announcement last Friday that teachers would begin "working to rule", another group standing with the teachers' union is looking to have their (and other) voices heard.

That announcement came after a week-long holiday break in schools. Returning to class Monday, both the Sun West School Division and Living Sky School Division shared their plans for the week, updated for April 6.

A campaign led out of Saskatoon sees the group "Families with STF" organizing their, "first week-long call-in campaign, to coincide with the STF’s launch of indefinite work-to-rule." A link to sign up can be found HERE.

"Saskatchewan residents are invited to sign up for a 15-minute time slot, and to place calls to Premier Scott Moe and Education Minister Jeremy Cockrill during their slot." stated the release.

This plan joins previous single-day efforts where Saskatchewan residents signed up for a chance to speak-up. Two separate dates last month saw 44 callers across 28 constituencies (Thursday, March 14), and then another 36 participants across 25 constituencies (Friday, March 22).

The "Families with STF" initiative was created by Nicole Berg and her six-year old daughter. In just over a month since it's inception, the social media account has grown to over 1200 active followers.

"The campaign created a platform for parents, caregivers, the school community, and concerned constituents to make their voice heard. Their message is simple: 'We trust our teachers and we stand with them'."

Berg says the group was founded in part thanks to an idea from her daughter. After Berg explained the ongoing situation, the younger counterpart shared that they should “just call the government”, eventually leading to what has been a successful endeavour so far.
