With this being national emergency preparedness week, an alert will be going out to test the system. This is done to ensure that alerts can be received by the public in times of emergency or disaster.

The alert goes out at 11:55 am.

The alert will play through television, radio, and wireless devices capable of distributing the message.

The theme for this year’s emergency preparedness week is “Be Prepared. Know Your Risks”. This is to encourage everyone to understand the possible dangers of work and where they live, and to make precautions to protect themselves and loved ones.
