Epilepsy is one of the most common chronic neurological disorders in Saskatchewan, and for the month of March the province will help raise awareness for Epilepsy Awareness month.

Epilepsy causes seizures in some forms of a blank stare, muscle spasms, uncontrolled movements, altered awareness, odd sensations, or a convulsion. Individuals of any age can be diagnosed with Epilepsy, with some cases of children with Epilepsy later outgrowing the seizures they once experienced.

Epilepsy is often treated through Antiepileptic medications, which are anti-seizure medications, to help the individual control their seizure episodes.

In Canada, over 300,000 people live with Epilepsy.
