Western Sales out of Elrose recently held a barbecue to help STARS Ambulance Rescue on the Prairie. VP of Agronomy Services at Western Sales Corey Leonard was very happy with support from the Elrose area.

“We did a barbecue that we held in our shop in a safe way. And staff reached out in advance of that to local customers, and shared the reasons everyone was getting together and to be honest, it was really extremely well attended. At one point we were scrambling to try and find another barbeque because of the number of people that were there. We had great support, we raised around $4200 or $4300 in a matter of really an hour, hour and half. It was a huge success, and great support from the community of Elrose.”

Leonard is also taking part in STARS Ambulance Rescue on the Prairie which begins this morning, where he will be dropped off at an undisclosed location with only a smartphone in hand to help him raise $50,000, as Leonard explains

“We get shuttled over to the STARS Hangar in Regina and then they take us to unknown destination wherever that might be, I'm assuming within 30 minutes flight or so. I know they'll have a bunch of activities for us throughout the day. There are three other guys that are in this as well as myself. I think we understand some competitions, and the end of the day we'll see where we land. I know there's an hour or two, I believe, for last minute phone calls to make sure that we can get to our goal, looking forward to it.”
