The Elrose Aces are all ready to start their 2016 Fertile Valley Baseball League season.

Player Jodi MacDonald said the team's main strength this year would be fantastic depth. He said a good mix of youth and experience and a couple new pitching arms should serve their team quite well.

When asked about which players to watch out for he stated there was a few, Dane MacDonald coming back from knee surgery, the entire outfield is loaded and Jeff Kingwell at 1st base.

When West Central Online asked him which team's should be in contention for the championship, he immediately said you had to look up north from Elrose at a strong Rosetown Angels team and also a couple of the Kindersley team's should be right there as well. He also went on to say his Elrose Aces were primed and ready and they feel like they are right there and ready to challenge for the top spot in the league.

He noted the team picked up a couple new pitchers from Wiseton and Outlook and in addition to mainstays Garrett Calwell and Mitch Rowley their staff should be among the best in the league.

For bats, Jeff Kingwell and Ryan Campbell were noted as being dangerous threats with the lumber in their hands and should give opposing pitchers all they can handle this summer.

The Elrose Aces kick off their season by hosting the Kyle Yellow Jackets on May 24th at 6:30.
