Staff and students are counting down the days until the winter holidays begin on the 22nd.

It will be a easy for students at Elizabeth Middle School in Kindersley to get in the holiday spirit with a number of activities scheduled within the next couple weeks.

The biggest activity in progress is their Giving Tree project geared to help those in need this holiday season. Students donate items such as non-perishable food items and toiletries which are tracked on their Christmas tree with pegs. The donated items will go towards their Christmas hampers.

Faculty and students will have their chance to participate in themed "dress up" spirit days during a couple school days as well. On the 15th of this month, children are welcomed to arrive in holiday-themed attire to school. The 16th will be "Pajama Day" with cookies for the students.

The three days before the winter holidays begin will be busy for the school as well.

On the 19th, a number of holiday-themed activities will take place in the gymnasium to help kick off the week for students.

The fun will not stop there as the next day will feature a community dinner at the school. Students will have the opportunity to enjoy a festive lunch with mashed potatoes, gravy, turkey, and much more. The afternoon will include carolling with the student body and staff.

Holiday cheer and jolly will be evident on the 21st when students will take in a holiday movie in the gym at lunchtime before classes are dismissed.
