Dawson Towell, a little boy in grade 5 at Walter Aseltine Elementary in Rosetown was heartbroken when he watched the wildfires blaze in northern Alberta. Dawson, used to live in Lac La Biche, about 2 1/2 hours south of Fort McMurray. Dawson was watching the news with his sister when he mentioned to her he should do something to help out. She turned to him and told him it's a fantastic idea and she'd be glad to help. She mentioned to Dawson he should talk to his teacher at school and see if they can come up with anything. His teacher at school was all ears and said they'd come up with plans at the school to help out. Walter Aseltine is collecting donations to send up to Fort McMurray and area to help with the relief efforts.

All next week the school will be collecting money to send to the community for the relief efforts. Anyone wishing to support this cause can bring the money to the school, or contact Nicole Gordon, Dawson’s mom, at gordonnicole@ymail.com.

Her friend, from Lac La Biche, has set up the following is a video to show things at Lac La Biche:
