In yesterday's update from the Saskatchewan Health Authority, they are reporting a total of 896 cumulative new cases of COVID-19 in the province, bringing the total to 83 558 reported cases. 

Single day counts are broken down to 205 cases on December 24, 241 cases on December 25, 151 cases on December 26, 137 cases on December 27, and 162 cases on December 28. 

Of the new cases, two are located in the Far North West zone, 15 in the Far North East zone, 44 in the North West zone, 37 in the North Central zone, 4 in the North East zone, 262 in the Saskatoon zone, 21 in the South West zone, 75 in the Central East zone, 229 in the Regina zone, 63 in the South Central zone, and 56 in the South East zone.  

There were 20 new cases in the Central West zone. 

There are 68 cases with pending residents' information. 

A total of 23 Saskatchewan residents tested positive out-of-province were added to the case counts. One was added to the North Central zone, seven were added to the Saskatoon zone, one was added to the Central East zone, nine were added to the Regina zone, two were added to the South Central zone, and three were added to the South East zone. 

There were 10 pending cases assigned, one to the North Central zone, one to the North East zone, two to the Saskatoon zone, one to the Central East zone, three to the Regina zone, one to the South Central zone, and one to the South East zone. 

There was one case was removed from case totals from the North West zone on August 30, 2021. 

There are 1,438 cases are considered active and 81,183 cases are considered recovered in the province. 

Nearly three-fifths (60.1%) of new cases are in the age category of 20 to 39. 

Less than one-half (48.7%) of new cases eligible for vaccination (aged 5 years and older) were fully vaccinated. 

As of today, a total of 80 individuals are hospitalized, including 64 inpatient hospitalizations and 16 ICU hospitalizations. Of the 80 patients, 47 (58.8%) were not fully vaccinated. 

There were two new deaths reported yesterday.  

A total of 947 Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 have died, with a case fatality rate of 1.1%. 

To date, 1,324,030 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province.  

There were 3 913 COVID-19 vaccines administered, 103 of those in the South West zone. 

That brings the provincial total number of vaccinations given to 1 795 682. 

There are now 854 685 Saskatchewan residents who are fully vaccinated.
