Two days after families of Elizabeth Middle School learned that all classes will be moving online due to COVID-19, some Westberry families are learning of a COVID-19 case that has been detected in the elementary school.

At this time one classroom in the school appears to have been exposed. The entire class is being considered a ‘close contact’ and have been requested to isolate except for attending class.

“Students who are close contacts that do not have symptoms and have not been fully vaccinated may leave isolation only for the purpose of attending in-class learning,” A letter from Dr. David Torr reads. “Students must isolate from all extracurricular activities and outings in the community.”

Everyone is reminded to be self monitoring for symptoms before entering any Sun West School Division Schools.

We’ll have more as this story develops.
