RCMP have released information on a fatal collision which happened this morning near Oyen, Alberta.

Both an 80-year-old woman and 81-year-old man from Perdue, Saskatchewan were killed at the intersection of Highway 570 and Highway 41.

According to the report, the elderly Saskatchewan couple were travelling west on Highway 570 between Oyen and Acadia Valley, when they stopped at the intersection of Highway 41.

Their vehicle began pulling into the driving lanes of Highway 41 when it was hit by a truck going northbound.

A 40-year-old man driving the truck suffered minor injuries in the collision.

RCMP have not found any contributing factors from the crash, but the matter is still under investigation.
