Those wanting a good scare this Halloween found exactly what they were looking for at the haunted maze in Coleville. This is the third year for the event which was held in the Coleville Skating Arena and was bigger and better than ever. The maze was over 3000 square feet, and open to those over the age of 11 this past Friday and Saturday evening.

Almost 30 live actors could be found in the maze which was about twice as many as last year. The actors were volunteers consisting of mainly high school students and local adults from Coleville. Some Rossville School students helped out during the event, and the rest went through the maze yesterday with the lights on and no actors.

West Central Online spoke with Kathy Sproule, secretary of Coleville's recreation board about this year's event.

Nearly 300 people went through the maze during the two evenings. Admission was $15 per person, resulting in around $6,000 in funds raised for Coleville recreation. The Coleville Recreation Association is the local group that looks after the ball diamonds, golf course, Laing’s Park, as well as the skating and curling rinks.

The Coleville Recreation board are planning to bring back the event next year with a new look.
