UPDATE: RCMP make arrests after locating truck involved in armed robbery

Further details from the release shared the public had already been notified to keep their eyes open for the truck around west-central and central Saskatchewan, and the first official local crime watch advisory concerning fuel thefts came on May 16.

A break in the case came on the evening of May 17 when Battlefords RCMP received a report of an assault on Moosomin First Nation.

Officers immediately responded to a situation including a firearm being discharged, where it was determined an altercation occurred between an adult male and an adult female. Shortly after that the male left in a vehicle, and the female was taken to the hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.

Investigation determined this truck was also connected to the assault reported on Moosomin First Nation, and after patrolling the area, at approximately 11:45 PM officers from the Battlefords RCMP Gang Task Force located the truck in question.

From there the report states "officers activated their emergency lights and attempted a traffic stop. The truck did not stop and continued on through local roads, several fields, then on to Territorial Drive in North Battleford. It came to stop in a ditch."

As a result the two occupants were arrested without incident, though a third fled on foot. Officers would patrol the area and arrest an individual a short time later, who was eventually released without charge.
