The Rosetown and District Chamber of Commerce Celebrate Success Awards were held last night at the Civic Centre in Rosetown.

The Civic Centre was full, the people were lively and overall everything went quite smoothly.

Mayor Brian Gerow addressed the crowd and a touching tribute to Shirley Helgason was done by the Chamber members.

Corrie J the hypnotist put on some lovely entertainment for the crowd and had the whole civic centre up in laughter.

 

The full list of winners are as follows:

Hayley Benjamin won the High School Student of the Year Award. Hayley works at the Central Plains Co-op grocery store in Rosetown.

Jennifer Massie won the Employee of the Year Award. Jennifer works as a Pharmacist at the Central Plains Co-op.

Team Canada vs Team Japan - Men's World Fastball Game took home the Community Event of the Year Award.

Impact Energy won the Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

Waymar Farms won the Rural Roots Award. Wayne and Marlene Isley own and operate this business a few miles out of Rosetown.

Rosetown Pharmasave won Business of the Year Award.

Crystal Storey won Citizen of the Year Award. This award received maybe the largest ovation of the night. Crystal accepted the award graciously and spoke a few words shortly after receiving it.

Ryan Wickett, on behalf of Western Sales, presenting the Rural Roots Award to Waymar Farms/Wayne's Machine - Wayne and Marlene Isley.

Citizen of the Year - Crystal Storey.

"You can pretend to care, but you can't pretend to show up!"

Crystal went on to say how as soon as she moved to Rosetown many years ago she instantly felt like this was home.

 

For all in attendance it was a magical night and a huge thank you to the Chamber for putting on such a successful event. Everyone can't wait until next year!
