1945 ~ 2023 (age 77)
We are saddened to announce Carol Ann Baker of Eston, SK passed away on January 11, 2023 from the Eston Lodge at the age of 77 years.
Carol, was brought into this world on August 1, 1945 to two loving parents, Edward and Dorothy Podbury, aside two older brothers Jack an Bob, in Horley, Surrey, England. She immediately brought joy and laughter into the world.
She immigrated from England in 1971, and from there, she moved all over Canada for Rick’s career as a Golf Professional, enjoying the provinces of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Saskatchewan. They were wed in 1974 in Nanaimo, British Columbia. She first became a mother in April 1978 to Janet, then again in 1980 to James. She became a grandmother ‘Nanny’ on September 13, 2011 to Cody. She dedicated her life to being a caring, fantastic and wonderful mother, supporting them through thick and thin. She loved her family with her whole heart and would never end a phone conversation with them without saying “I love you” multiple times.
Carol enjoyed the simple life with things like reading books under the sun, feeding the birds, and collecting all kinds of dalmatian figurines. But her real passion was golfing, and when she wasn’t at the Riverside Golf Course you could catch her on her weekly visits to Kindersley for some wonton soup and a glass of wine at the RL.
Everyone who knew Carol knew how funny she was. Carol was full of positivity, traits that were obvious to all after even just a single meeting with her.
Carol is survived by her devoted husband, Rick Baker; loving children Janet Brown and James Baker; grandson Cody Baker; brothers Jack Podbury and Bob Podbury; and an abundance of friends. We will miss you more than words can say.
