Kindersley’s Dakota Buttar continues to make waves in his PBR Canada tour after claiming his third event win at the North Battleford PBR.

In round one of the event, Buttar made his intentions known after scoring the highest points in the round with an 84 on his bull, Devour.

In the championship round, Buttar drew Rat Trap and between the two of them, they scored the highest in the event with 87.5 points, subsequently handing Buttar the championship.

His third event win awarded him 350 Canadian points which moved him from 5th in the national standings to 3rd. According to the stats, Buttar is now flirting with overtaking first place by just 474.99 points, something very attainable for the Kindersley cowboy if he keeps riding the way he has been.

In the world standings, the North Battleford win added 60 points to his ranks, which secures a 34th position in the world. To qualify for the PBR World Finals, Buttar will need to stay within the top 35.

So far this summer, the 26-year-old bull rider has rode approximately two-thirds of the bulls he has drawn with a ride percentage of 65.21, moving his average ride percentage up to 49 for the season.

Over the next three months, Buttar will strive to beat his rank from last year where he finished in 17th in the world, earning $117,000, an all-time best for the Kindersley cowboy.
