Kindersley’s Dakota Buttar is getting ready for his next bull riding event, and it is close to home for the current PBR Canada leader in points. Coming off a victory at the PBR Pendleton Whisky Classic in Calgary, Buttar will be heading to the PBR Saskatoon Classic this weekend.

Buttar harped on his consistency heading into the last two events in the PBR Canada season.

“I just got to stay consistent with the last two and keep riding my bulls, it's crunch time. This weekend will be last event before the finals, and then there's a ton of points at the final, so I got to keep riding consistent. Hopefully I can keep drawing some good bulls,” Buttar told West Central Online.

Buttar then talked about the excitement of competing so close to home.

“I like competing in Saskatoon, its closest wanted year for me. So, a lot of friends and family get to come. It’s not very often I get to just drive down the road, you know, leave in the afternoon and get to the event. It's exciting, I like being able to ride in front of friends like that, so I'm pumped for it.”

When asked about getting tickets for his friends, Buttar said he definitely tries to, but it’s not always that easy with a chuckle.

Back to the competition, Buttar talked about his friendly rivalry with Zane Lambert, who currently sits 96.6 points behind him heading into the PBR Saskatoon Classic.

“It’s going to be exciting. I have a lot of respect for Zane, we’ve been in this situation before.  It's a lot of fun and cool when it can be a friendly rivalry like that and it'll be off on here in the next couple weeks.”

The action kicks off at the SaskTel Centre tonight and will conclude on Saturday. The final event of the PBR Canada season will be the 2021 PBR Canada National Finals in Edmonton on November 12.
