After winning his first PBR event at his first Canadian showing of the year, Kindersley’s Dakota Buttar finished in the top five at Pokey’s PBR Bull Riding at Falher AB.

The two-time Glen Keely Award winner had a double entry in the event and outlasted the buzzar on two bulls, posting a third place finish and also a three-way tie for fourth.

Buttar scored an 87.5 point ride on, Catch of The Day, and an 84 point ride on, Chiseled in Stone.

The Kindersley bull rider earned $3148.57 for his weekend efforts and gained 213.33 Canadian points, moving him from No. 22 in the Canadian national standings to No. 12.

Additionally, he banked another 30 world points, moving him from No. 38 in the world to No.36 and boosted his ride percentage to 46 per cent, up from 44 per cent after winning the Moose Jaw event.

Buttar now sits just one spot out of the top 35 in the world, which he will need to secure to qualify for the PBR World Finals in November.
