The postseason is here looking at local minor hockey.

Several games on Thursday night in the Hi-Way 14 Hockey League were just a pre-cursor for a jam-packed weekend of action coming up. One of the games saw the U15 Kindersley Klippers #2 team hosting the Outlook Ice Hawks in Game 1 of their first round series, an exciting 9-7 finish for the Klippers.

The Ice Hawks scored the first goal of the game early, but the Klippers responded shortly after in what was a back-and-forth first frame. Kindersley found the back of the net early and often after the second period, going up by a few goals, but Outlook did eventually battle back to make it a 7-7 game. Tied into the final three minutes, the Klippers would score a goal, and add an empty-netter to secure the rollercoaster win.

Playoff tournaments are complete at the younger levels (U9, U11). Check out the results for U13, U15, and U18 earlier this week. Series will continue beginning Friday in each division.

(Note: Not all Game 3's are listed. Some series in the Hi-Way 14 Hockey League are a modified best-of-three, as if teams are tied following two games, a ten-minute extra frame will begin a mini-game to help finish the series off.)

U13 play sees Eston Blue taking Eston White in Game 1 at 6:00 PM, Game 2 set for Sunday. One game on Saturday sees the Kindersley Klippers hosting the Biggar Nationals at 5:45 PM in a Game 2. Three other Game 2's on Sunday will see Outlook hosting Rosetown at 11:00 AM, Kyle hosting a matchup between the Prairie Predators and MMHA U13 Blue at 12:00, and then Leader hosting Wilkie at 1:00 PM.

The U15 division has two games in action Friday night, as the Unity Lazers and KDL Tigers played Game 2 of their series at 6:00 PM in Wilkie. The other game going at 8:00 PM sees the Prairie Predators and Rosetown Redwings playing Game 2 in Biggar. A series finishing Saturday sees the Kindersley #1 Klippers in Eston at 6:00 PM, and then on Sunday at 6:00 PM the Kindersley #2 Klippers will try to win Game 2 in Outlook against the Ice Hawks.

Finally, U18 play this weekend sees two games on Friday as Outlook and Elrose tangle from the Elrose Uniplex at 7:30 PM, and then Rosetown Redwings host the KDL Rage at 8:00 PM. One game each on the weekend sees a game in Wilkie between the joint Biggar/Wilkie team and Unity Lazers at 7:00 PM, and then Sunday in Dodsland will be Game 2 between KDL and Rosetown at 3:30. Looking ahead to Tuesday, the Macklin Mohawks will host the Kindersley Klippers at 7:30 PM.
