Another busy week for Biggar RCMP members included 45 occurrences, and mischievous behaviour just edged out a bevy of traffic related calls to headline the November 27 list.

The police report shared that an adult was pulled over in the 300 block of 4 Avenue in Biggar, found disqualified, though that didn't deter him from stunting with kids in the car, while under the influence in an unregistered vehicle. The other headline call had a 17-year-old caught going to fast in the school zone. Another individual caught by police saw a 34-year-old arrested and charged after operating a vehicle while disqualified, failing to abide by his court conditions, as that individual is currently in police custody.

Other traffic calls saw serious speed fines in excess of 35 km over the posted limit, one specifically going to a 2016 Dodge Ram 1500 on Highway #14, coming in at $554, and then another fine amounting to $562 on Highway #51 given to a 2018 Chev Suburban.

Police would also receive word of a few suspicious individuals and situations. A 34-year-old female was hitchhiking on Highway #4 south from North Battleford to Swift Current, and continued on her way after a brief check-in with familiar members.

There was also a rural break and enter reported just off 3120 in the RM of Eagle Creek, where the owner reportedly their lost their gun safe. Another rural property theft near Springwater saw owner reports that someone left behind an abandoned boat and trailer from the 60’s, but there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

With all of the police news coming out of town, detachment commander Sgt. Dereck Crozier had this news to share.

"On a more positive note, I will give a shout out to the great job by our performing artists and volunteers for the events put on at the theatre this past week, and also to Biggar Bites having a seafood boil – Louisiana style this past weekend."
