West Central Online first shared the story of three year old Scarlett Adnam back in January. A friend of the Adnam’s, Michelle Zacharius, started a Go Fund Me titled “Wheels for Scarlett” to help buy her a new wheelchair as well as a new van for their family. The fundraising campaign that began back in December raised nearly $10,000 within the first month, and the total currently sits at $15,336 as we approach the end of March.

The online page may have seen the donations start to pour in a little slower since, but the support being seen inside the community of Rosetown has never been stronger. Athlete’s Haven in town is just one business that is in the midst of a March event that should provide a decent chunk of cash towards the $50,000 goal, and Jenna Moore with the store helped share about their ongoing Facebook auction as well.

“We joined in and decided that in the month of March, 10% of our sales from the store, as well as all the funds from the community auction would be donated back to Scarlett and her family.”

The auction closes tomorrow night, currently sitting with 90 items up for bid, and should provide a nice lump sum to add to the total coming from the store, that was sitting over $10,000 raised for the month at the beginning of this week.

“The auction went live Monday, and it is doing phenomenal. We are so grateful for the businesses, organizations, and individuals that donated items,” shared Moore, “Then the bids from everyone has been astounding, so we should be able to raise a lot of money for the family from that.”

One thing a Facebook auction can bring as well is a diverse crowd, as people from all over have the chance to place a bid on an item they may find interesting. Things close up on Saturday night at 8 pm, and full auction rules are available through their Facebook page as well.

Scarlett’s story touched the hearts of many in town to help get this special fundraiser off and running, but for Moore, the story is a little closer to home.

“There is a family connection, in this case my husband would be first cousins with (Scarlett’s dad).”

Moore also mentioned the fact that a special “Wheels for Scarlett” concert is coming to town on April 16th, and might act as a wrap up event for all of the happenings in town related to raising money for the Adnam’s. There is still a long ways to go, but the support seen for Scarlett has to be a very encouraging sign for the family that has called Rosetown home for many years.

Expect West Central Online to have a follow up on the store’s total donations from the month of March. Check out the Athlete’s Haven Facebook auction through the post above, as things begin to close up tomorrow night.
