Applications are now available for the 2018 Saskatchewan Agriculture Student Scholarship program.

Scholarship programs can be a big benefit for students interested in pursuing a post-secondary education.

Students in Grade 12 and recent graduates entering agriculture-related post-secondary studies can apply for the program by submitting a creative three-minute video, or a 1,000-word essay based on topics surrounding their food story.

The winning scholarship is $4,000, and three runner-up scholarships of $2,000 will also be awarded.

Last year’s winner Amanda Mitchell of Bracken says the scholarship gave her the opportunity to educate herself so that as an advocate she can better address some of the myths and misconceptions surrounding agriculture.

The application deadline is March 1, 2018.
