Agriculture was the focus yesterday for all the Saskatchewan Party Leadership Candidates.

A public forum was organized by some Agricultural Organizations in the Province to get the candidates perspective on some of the key issues in the industry.

APAS President Todd Lewis says while Agriculture is a key economic driver it’s going to need some support.

"It's not just a tax revenue source or cash cow," he said. "Agriculture is going to need some support as well, be it infrastructure, internet delivery, and better roads."

Lewis says they all seem to understand that Agriculture is important and that one topic that got a lot of discussions was the PST on Insurance Rates:

"I think all the candidates said that they would look at that in the next budget and that it probably needs to have some changes made," he said. "I think overall people are pretty satisfied with the day and the comments that were made."

Members of the Saskatchewan Party will cast their vote on January 27th for the party’s next leader and Premier of the Province.

They’ll choose from Tina Beaudry-Mellor, Ken Cheveldayoff, Alanna Koch, Scott Moe and Gord Wyant.
