"Green thumbs" in Kindersley will be recognized next month by Communities in Bloom for making the town more beautiful in the Miracle-Gro Best Garden Competition.

The goal of the non-profit organization is to improve green spaces and award property owners for doing the same.

Communities in Bloom began in 1995 with only 29 Canadian communities, and now helps to improve neighborhoods across Canada and in the U.S.

Nominations must be completed and sent by September 7th, and the winners will be announced on September 14th.

Six awards will be given out based on design, affordability, use of space, turf, flow and other similar criteria.

Candidates and interested volunteers can email tim.h@kindersley.ca.
