The Heart and Stroke Foundation's 'Big Bike' returned to Kindersley on Wednesday evening.  The Kindersley Healthy Hearts prepped with a bit of stretching and then hit the road.  The bike seats 30 people, all with individual pedals and riders are encouraged to raise funds for the Heart and Stroke Foundation before the day of the ride.

The riders took to the streets of Kindersley armed with noise makers and water guns.  Fortunately people passing by were safe as the water was strictly for the motivation of the riders.  The bike made quite the circuit, making its way down Main Street to 11th AVE where it turned onto Ditson drive before returning to Main Street.  Riders used their arms to signal left and right, and to signify when the bike was slowing down or stopped.

Riders were armed with water guns, noise makers and costumes on the 30 seat bike.

This is the 16th year that the "Big Bike" has pedaled through Kindersley and this years event brought in a total of $4553 at days end on Wednesday.  Last year over 70,000 riders raised over 8 million dollars for the fundraiser.  Money raised goes towards life-saving heart disease and stroke research, placing automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in communities across Canada to increase someone’s chance of surviving cardiac arrest, and funding the development of life-saving treatments.
