"Ladies Night" in Dodsland a few weeks back resulted in a fun-filled evening back on April 6. A fundraiser event featuring comedian Myles Morrison and much more was put on in support of the Dodsland Library; "Hollywood" being the night's theme.

Cocktails and supper took place before the comedian hit the stage. A DJ went afterwards, and then the night ended with a midnight lunch.

Outside of all the glitz and glamour, over $6500 was raised towards the Dodsland Library on the night, according to chair of the library board Stacey McIntosh.

"The event went really well!" McIntosh began. "Everyone had a great time. The Hollywood theme really brought out the sparkle with a lot of beautiful dresses worn."

The Dodsland Lions Club and Dodsland Senior Stars hockey team helped out tremendously in the planning. The community spirit runs strong in Dodsland and the recent fundraiser was no exception for the local library that heavily relies on fundraising.

"We have an annual fundraising goal in order to cover our operating costs, and anything above that will go towards building improvements, and offering other events for different demographics in the community."

Maybe they won't make it Hollywood, but McIntosh and her fellow organizers all agree it would be a great annual event for Dodsland.

"We do plan to make this an annual event every spring."
